When we first meet I will ask you about your current fitness routine, your fitness goals and any limitations or medical conditions that you have. If you currently have a medical condition that limits physical activity please get clearance from your physician. Please allow for 60-90 minutes for our first visit so I can take baseline measurements and assessments which will give me the information I will use to prepare your first exercise plan.
Core Assessment-I will evaluate the four aspects of your core the results of which will help determine the best core exercises to start you with.
Movement Assessment-Are you able to perform the six foundational movement patterns? Let’s find out.
After assessing your core and movement and determining how much time you have to devote to your fitness goals I will program your first eight week workout plan.
How should you position your feet and move your knees when performing a squat? What is a helpful cue when learning a hip hinge? How do you position your elbows in a pulling exercise so you work your lats more than your middle traps? What is a helpful cue when doing a push up so you work your chest more than your shoulders? When we were tiny we were dancers. We didn’t need to think about how to move we just moved! But time and habits have imprisoned too many of us inside corporeal prisons. Hire me, to help free you from a body that doesn’t move the way you want it to, to the body you were meant to live in!
After assessing your core and learning your favorite cardio activities I will prepare your first eight week cardio-core circuit plan for cardio days.
I will ask you about your beliefs around food, learn your eating patterns, food favorites and food dislikes, I will share fact based nutrition information, and show you an easy way to keep track of calories in and calories out. I will also share what I eat in a typical day, and offer delicious protein packed plant based recipes from around the world.
Using the MyPlate website I can point out different choices that you have to satisfy your nutritional requirements. I can also share recipes that are both delicious and should satisfy your nutritional requirements. However, bear in mind, the scope of my certification does not encompass specific diet or supplement recommendations or prescriptions to treat medical conditions.
The magic of a good workout plan is that you can’t help but become more fit. My job, with your input, is to monitor your progress and modify your workouts so you continue making progress and become the strongest, healthiest, fittest person you can be.
